Our Blueline of Help
We are very fortunate to be residing in a country whereby every effort is made to ensure safety within our home, our school, our workplace and on our streets.
Many dedicated individuals have focussed their attention on developing programs that encourage a healthy dialogue on complex issues and allow us, as a community, to get behind them and support their noble and worthwhile endeavours.
“Coffee with a Cop”, is an initiative that we, at Writers Reserve, proudly sponsor. This meeting place, empowers people to ask questions of Police Officers, that may help them talk about or navigate through, complicated situations, in an environment that is comfortable and non-threatening.
The “Blueline” of help, marks the approachability of liaising with Police Officers, with the aid of appointed “Volunteers in Policing”, to assist in community safety, crime prevention and support to victims of crime.
As with the “Coffee with a Cop” initiative, a helping hand is extended to any person within our community, whereas with the “Adopt a Cop” program is a partnership between a volunteer Police Officer and a School, to not only provide a valuable and essential educational resource for students, teachers and parents, but to provide attendance at school fetes, sports days, school excursions, graduations or just informal visits.
The “Police Citizens Youth Club”, also provides exceptional support for our youth by upholding an ethical and moral standard with tolerance and understanding.
With great comfort and appreciation, we would like to finally highlight, the outstanding efforts of our “Neighbourhood Watch” and “Crime Stoppers” volunteers, who work tirelessly with Police to provide a safe haven to report anonymously, crime information that can help stop a crime or to stop one from escalating. To all the people who make our lives better and our country a better place to live, we say thank you…
